BUSY WEEKEND

For an old guy who doesn't get out of the house much, today and tomorrow I need to go pick up my "lost" camera at Crews Control, buy pecan mulch and dirt at Marshall Grain Company (and unload it all at home), go see Big Wampum at the Harley place in Fort Worth, go to a western swing jam tonight in Cool, then spend Saturday (with Joyce and Gary) in Mineral Wells at SWINGFEST while not forgetting to visit CHUMP CHANGE at Jake's on Camp Bowie---and really I ought to stop in late tonight at the The Keys to see Rusty and Davy one more time.

I swear, I am too old for all of this. And it's a lot of riding for Mimi! But Crystal, of course, is glad to get me out of the house, ha!

Just found out about GRO a few months ago, reading a review by Mike Gross. I am helping out as editor of for the Western Swing Guild and the NW Western Swing Music Society

Really appreciate the photo collage of SwingFest posted on www.newtexrecords . . . I was looking for photos on a Facebook site, found the collage and borrowed it to use in the May issue of the Western Swing Guild newsletter - of course credit was given. It's on page 4 - www.westernswingguild.com. Found the info on newtexrecords in the fine print at the bottom right corner.

Mike's review of GRO was published in the May issue of the NW Western Swing Music Society's newsletter: www.nwwsms.org/

Also, really appreciate the history on the website. Watch for an order for some cds - want to put some out on the table during our annual festival/Hall of Fame in August.

So sorry for the delay in getting back to you! For some reason, I kept checking my e-mail for a response . . . haven't got into the habit of checking blogs and such.

Steve, if you attend any western swing/trad country events in your area and have the time to write a review of the occasion (with a few photos), please consider sending them to me for publication at [email protected]. I really admire your photography and your writing.
